3 Chinese loan shark gang members kidnap fellow national

Three alleged members of a Chinese loan shark gang on Monday kidnapped a fellow Chinese national in a bid to squeeze more money from the victim.

According to a Tuesday report by Jonathan Andal on Balitanghali, the victim was able to pay his debt which, including interest, came to over P1 million.

However, the suspects were not content and asked for an additional P1 million.

"He knows these people. He borrowed money from them in casino. Tapos, he returned the money but they still [took] him away," a translator said.

The victim said he was taken at a clubhouse in Makati around 7 p.m. on Monday and was forced into a car.

However, the victim managed to roll down the car window and call for help.

A traffic enforcer saw this and flagged the car down.

"The 3 suspects took my money, P3,500, trying to bribe the police but the police doesn't want to accept," a translator said.

The victim and the suspects were brought to the Pasay City Police Investigation Section. — Joahna Lei Casilao/DVM, GMA News
