DUE TO 'TISOY'

Angat Dam water rises to 193.37m level, far from ideal 210m –PAGASA

Rains from Typhoon Tisoy raised by 4.5 meters the water level in Angat Dam, the major source of Metro Manila's water needs.

State weather bureau PAGASA hydrologist Danilo Flores told Super Radyo dzBB's Dobol B sa News TV on Wednesday morning that from 6 a.m. Tuesday to 6 a.m. Wednesday, Angat's water rose by 4.5 meters  to 193.37m, but said this is still far from the ideal 210-meter level.

Also, Flores said that in the next two days, PAGASA expects more water would flow into the reservoir in Bulacan in Central Luzon.

Flores advised residents in Metro Manila and in nearby areas getting their supply from Angat Dam to conserve water.

He said that while the bureau still expects one cyclone hitting the country in December, there is no guarantee it will cross over the Angat watershed area. —LBG, GMA News
