42 victims of lambanog poisoning still at PGH on Christmas
Dozens of the victims of lambanog poisoning from Rizal town, Laguna are still confined at the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) in Manila on Christmas Day.
According to Super Radyo dzBB reporter Isa Umali-Avendaño, a total of 42 patients that were admitted at PGH after drinking lambanog have yet to be discharged as of 8 a.m., citing an update from Dr. Jonas Del Rosario, the hospital's spokesperson.
Seventeen are staying in the emergency room, 24 are recovering in the ward, while one remains in the intensive care unit.

Three minors who had been hospitalized due to lambanog poisoning were among those who were already discharged.
Rizal, Laguna Mayor Vener Muñoz said that at least 11 were confirmed dead among his constituents after drinking lambanog which supposedly came from Quezon province.
Hundred others had been hospitalized—70% of whom have already been discharged, according to Muñoz.
Department of Health undersecretary and Food and Drug Administration officer-in-charge Eric Domingo earlier said that the rushed or incorrect method of producing the distilled palm liquor may lead to the production of methanol, which is poisonous for humans. — MDM, GMA News
