Mayor Isko warns vendors vs hawking wares during Traslacion 2020

Mayor Isko Moreno on Monday reminded vendors, all of whom were prohibited from hawking their wares during Thursday's Traslacion, that the event was about religious devotion and not a mere business opportunity.

“Let’s make this solemn. It is about Jesus. This is not about opportunity... This is the time to munimuni sa buhay. Hindi ito negosyo,” Moreno said during a press briefing.

The Manila mayor also warned vendors that their wares would be confiscated should they be caught selling amid the Traslacion.

“Huwag niyong sabayaan ang ruta. Sayang ang puhunan. Nanghihinayang kami para sa inyo. Kukinin namin ‘yan. Because it willl be considered obstruction,” explained Moreno.

The Manila government has been clearing city streets in preparation for Traslacion 2020, in which millions of devotees were expected to participate.

Meanwhile, Moreno discouraged "epal" politicians from putting up their banners along the Traslacion's route.

“We will tear it down. Walang mag-eepal,” he likewise warned. — DVM, GMA News
