LRMC said the LRT1 was temporarily stopped at 06:45 a.m., and normal operations resumed at 07:09 a.m.

According to the LRMC, its team immediately responded to pull out the passenger, who was initially brought to Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center for a medical observation, and was later transferred to Medical Center Manila for a full medical examination.

"Based on medical findings, the passenger sustained head lacerations and bruises due to impact from the fall," it said.

The passenger is has since undergone x-ray ultrasounds and a computed tomography (CT) scan.

"LRMC commends the train operator for presence of mind and performing an emergency break for safety, as well as the operations and safety teams for quick response to the incident," it said.

Moving forward, the company called on the public to follow the rules and regulations implemented at its stations and trains.

"The company reserves the right to deny entry to individuals who pose safety and security risk," it said. —LDF, GMA News
