QC police raid spa which allegedly offered ‘extra services’
Quezon City authorities on Friday raided a spa in West Kamias after receiving information about the spa’s illegal operations which allegedly included a “special service” for customers.
According to a statement, a composite team from the Quezon City Hall and the Quezon City Police District raided the Epitome Z Spa and apprehended 14 people, including three massage therapists.
Quezon City General Hospital Director Dr. Josephine Sabando said that all those in custody were taken to the QC Protection Center for physical examination.
Sabando added that two of the therapists tested positive for Hepatitis B and syphilis.
Authorities also found that the establishment had no business permit from the city hall.
The QC Business Permit and Licensing Department had ordered the closure of the spa.
QC Mayor Joy Belmonte called on citizens to report massage parlors offering “extra services” to Hotline 122.
“Iniutos ko ang pinaigting na kampanya laban sa mga spa na nag-aalok ng extra service sa ating lungsod upang matuldukan na ang ganitong kalakaran,” she added. — Julia Mari Ornedo/DVM, GMA News
