MRT3 halts Ortigas–North Ave. ops due to broken part of tracks
Due to a broken stretcher bar along the tracks, the management of Metro Rail Transit Line 3 on Sunday closed the train operation in six stations, from Ortigas to North Avenue.
The train service can only accommodate passengers traveling the route between Shaw Boulevard Station and Taft Avenue Station, the management said in a statement.
“The MRT-3 started implementing provisional service from Shaw Boulevard to Taft Avenue stations (both bounds) due to a broken stretcher bar at the North Avenue Station Turnback,” MRT3 said.

“Sumitomo-Mitsubishi Heavy-TESP team is now on site,” it added.
According to MRT3 management, the stretcher bar has already been replaced and the re-tightening and calibration works have been ongoing since of 8:56 a.m.
At least seven trains are currently running in the operation.
“Thank you, and we are sorry for the inconvenience,” MRT3 said.
Waiting passengers at the Cubao Station left the train platform. They returned purchased tickets and claimed new ones as reimbursement.
Michael Capati, director for operations of MRT3, said the operation returned to normal at 12:22 p.m. —LBG, GMA News
