Wife of hit-and-run victim to file charges against driver
The wife of a pedicab driver who was killed by a speeding driver along Marcos Highway said she will file charges against the suspect after initially agreeing to an out of court settlement.
Gustavo Vitriolo crashed into Arnold Bunales as the latter was crossing the highway at around 1:30 a.m.
The suspect denied seeing the victim even though the crash destroyed one side of his car.
Vitriolo was released after he and the victim’s wife, Imelda, reached a 350,000-peso settlement.
She was made to sign an affidavit of desistance stating that she will no longer file charges.
However, she said that she only signed the document because she could not understand English and really needed the money.
“Napapirma ako dahil sa kawalan ng pinansiyal. Wala kaming pera talaga pang-ano dito.
