Special task group created to probe shooting incident involving Kim Chiu's van

The Quezon City Police District created Wednesday a special investigation task group as they are still facing a blank wall on the shooting incident involving a van carrying actress Kim Chiu.

In her report on GMA News TV’s Balitanghali, GMA reporter Maki Pulido said the police are yet to determine the motive in the shooting and they are looking into all possible angles.

The report said at least eight shell casings were recovered in the crime scene while the van sustained only seven bullet marks, mostly on the right side.

It said two of the bullets were able to penetrate the driver side and front passenger side of the customized vehicle.

No CCTV footages were released yet in connection with the incident.

Chiu, her assistant Mayrin Nasara, and her driver Wilfredo Taberna were on their way to taping when the incident happened.

Taberna said they were about to turn left at C.P. Garcia Avenue from Katipunan when they heard gunshots. At first they thought they were not the target until they saw two men on board a motorcycle shooting at them.

The gunmen fled to the direction of Tandang Sora Avenue.

The actress called home to ask for another vehicle. But a barangay tanod already responded to the incident and contacted the police.

Chiu and Nasara left the area and went straight to her scheduled taping.

The actress, in an Instagram post, said she does not have any idea what happened

Chiu then shared her experience.

"6am on my way to taping, I was asleep inside my car then I heard several gun shots, 8 to be exact. I was shocked and ask my driver what happened, then I saw this bullet on the windshield where my head was laying 'buti nakahiga ako.' Paano kung tinuloy ko magbasa ng script?" she said.

"I was so scared, I dont know what to feel right now. Wala naman akong kaaway or ka atraso. Why me?" she added.—AOL, GMA News
