POGO workers turned back at checkpoint in Muntinlupa
A coaster full of Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) workers were turned away at a checkpoint in Susana Heights Exit, Muntinlupa City amid the enhanced community quarantine.
According to John Consulta's Thursday report on 24 Oras, the Chinese nationals were forced to make a U-turn and go back to where they came from.
The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) had earlier ordered the suspension of POGOs after the issuance of guidelines banning the online gambling amid the enhanced community quarantine in Luzon.
Meanwhile, tension spiked at the checkpoint when an SUV tried to slip past authorities. It was chased by the Highway Patrol Group and was returned to the checkpoint.
"May darating kaming karne. Kung gusto niyo sumama kayo sa akin, bibigyan ko pa kayo ng karne," the driver said.
"Nagkamali ako, humihingi na ako ng ticket sa kanila sa lisensya ko. Tatanungin ko na lang kung saan ko tutubusin," he added.
The driver was brought to a police station for ticketing.
Meanwhile, amid the curfew in Santa Rosa City, authorities caught a group drinking in the street at midnight, The group claimed that alcohol was a countermeasure against the coronavirus disease.
Another drunk who was caught at 2 a.m. in Barangay Santo Domingo meanwhile cursed the authorities who caught him.
