Marikina gov’t to find ways to aid to residents left out of social amelioration program

The Marikina City government on Monday said it will look for ways to provide financial assistance to residents who were not qualified to receive social amelioration from the national government amid the coronavirus threat.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) earlier explained that low-income families will be prioritized in the cash aid program.

Marikina submitted its list of 135,000 aid beneficiaries to the DSWD last week, according to a 24 Oras report by Maki Pulido.

However, they were later on informed that only less than half of the families on the list will receive aid.

Teodoro said the local government will find ways to give cash aid to those who were not deemed qualified by the DSWD.

In the meantime, the Marikina City government launched an online consultation service for all medical concerns, not just COVID-19.
