Manila gov't transfers COVID-19 patients to Ninoy Aquino Stadium
The Manila City government has successfully transferred the first batch of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients to the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
The sports facility inside the Rizal Memorial Complex has recently been converted to a quarantine center with a 112-bed capacity through the joint efforts of the national government and the private sector.
Air-conditioned cubicles with plug-in outlets, free food for patients and the attending medical staff, free Internet connection, and round-the-clock medical assistance are expected to be provided in this quarantine facility.
As of April 13, there were 323 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Manila City, with 42 deaths and 27 recoveries. Nearly 500 others are being investigated for possible infection. --Dona Magsino/KBK, GMA News
