Pasig gov’t hands out grocery packages to graduating students

With thousands of graduating students missing a rare opportunity to claim their diplomas onstage, the Pasig City government decided to give them a small token to lift their spirits.

According to a 24 Oras report by Mariz Umali on Wednesday, local authorities handed out a special grocery package for graduating students.

The gift was meant for students and their families to celebrate with amid the lockdown.

Students also received a P400 food coupon from the local government.

Mayor Vico Sotto earlier announced that they will grant P8,000 in cash aid to some 150,000 families in Pasig who were not included in the final list of beneficiaries of the national government’s social amelioration program. — Julia Mari Ornedo/BM, GMA News
