46 Manila barangay officials asked to explain undistributed relief goods

The Manila city government has asked 46 barangay officials to explain complaints of undistributed relief goods supposedly given to residents affected by the lockdown.

According to Chino Gaston's Friday report on 24 Oras, the chairman of Barangay 61 was accused of not distributing rations of spaghetti sauce and noodles among his constituents.

A concerned citizen had posted pictures of the undistributed relief goods that were allegedly hidden in a barangay outpost.

Barangay chairman Edgardo Fojas explained that only 599 food packs of spaghetti and rice arrived from the city hall for 880 families in the barangay.

To resolve this, a barangay resolution was passed that diected families to share the relief.  However, Fojas said a barangay kagawad failed to correctly implement the order.

'Yung time na 'to, eto may spaghetti na natira niya which is two box 'tsaka ilang butal, itinago niya sa day care," Fojas said. —Joahna Lei Casilao/LDF, GMA News
