Tricycle operations resume in Muntinlupa

Tricycles resumed operating in Muntinlupa City on Monday, May 25.

Muntinlupa City Mayor Jaime Fresnedi signed an executive order which sets the operating hours of tricycles at 5 a.m. to 12 a.m. on Mondays to Saturdays.

Tricycles with plate numbers ending in an odd number (1, 3, 5, 7, 9) will be allowed on the roads on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Those with plate numbers ending in an even number (2, 4, 6, 8, 0) will be allowed on the roads on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

No tricycle will be allowed on the roads on Sundays.

Only one passenger who will sit on the right side will be allowed in each tricycle. No back rider is allowed.

Both the driver and passenger have to wear face masks.

The fare will be P25 as the trip will be considered "special".

Temperature checking will be conducted at tricycle terminals.

Each tricycle must also have a sanitizer and disinfection will be conducted twice a day on each unit.

Muntinlupa City and the rest of Metro Manila have been placed under modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) effective May 16 to last until May 31 to prevent the further spread of COVID-19.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon were previously under the more strict enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) from mid-March until May 15.
