700 Manila residents take rapid test, 6 test positive for COVID-19


Six residents of two barangays under hard lockdown in Manila have tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) after more than 700 residents took a rapid test for the infection.

According to Jun Veneracion's report on "24 Oras," the five patients from Barangay 60 and one patient from Barangay 844 have been placed under home quarantine.

Around 200 residents were tested from Barangay 163, while more than 200 residents were tested from Barangay 60, and another 300 residents were tested from Barangay 844.

"'Yung mass testing natin ma-identify natin isa-isa kung sino ba talaga 'yung nahawaan o nakausap nu'ng mga nag-positive dito sa barangay," Barangay 60 chairman Ronaldo Torres said.

Meanwhile, the Philippines on Friday reported 28,459 COVID-19 cases with a total of 7,378 recoveries and 1,130 fatalities. —Joahna Lei Casilao/LDF, GMA News
