10k gather for El Shaddai event in Parañaque amid COVID-19 spread

More than 10,000 members of the Catholic charismatic group El Shaddai gathered for a religious event in Sucat, Parañaque over the weekend amid the coronavirus pandemic.

According to a “24 Oras” report on Monday, this was the first gathering of the group since community quarantines were imposed in March.

The organizers said they underwent the necessary procedures to host the event.

They added that health protocols such as social distancing and the wearing of masks were observed.

The organizers said they limited the number of attendees to 10,000 pursuant to the government’s rule that only 10 percent capacity in places of worship may be occupied.
