Pasig gov’t halts Landers-Ugong operation for failure to maintain social distancing

Mayor Vico Sotto on Tuesday announced that the city government of Pasig temporarily halted the operations of Landers Superstore Ugong for failure to maintain social distancing.

Sotto clarified that the restaurant, barbershop, plant shop, pharmacy, and parking lot of the store may remain open for business since only the grocery store is temporarily closed.

“Usually when we suspend for this reason, we don't announce the name. We don't want them to have bad publicity; we just want their customers safe. But this is a big business, so you'll probably hear about it anyway,” he said on Twitter.

“Management has expressed their intent to comply as we encourage them to use the next few days to improve their health/safety protocols,” Sotto added. —Julia Mari Ornedo/LDF, GMA News
