Vloggers nabbed for body-in-a-bag prank in Valenzuela

Four vloggers were arrested in Valenzuela City over the weekend for attempting a prank that caused alarm among residents of Barangay Paso de Blas.

According to Jun Veneracion’s report on “24 Oras,” one of the vloggers in the group was wrapped in a sack of rice by the other members and left on the side of the road.

“‘Yung isa po naming kasama, nakasako lang po, kunwari humihingi ng tulong. Hindi po talaga dapat patay, hindi gano’n, tapos titingnan po namin kung sino ‘yung tutulong, gano’n,” one of them said.

Unfortunately for the group of 19- to 20-year-olds, police patrolling the area saw them as they were setting up the prank.

“‘Yun nga po, ‘yung dumating, pulis. Prank gone wrong,” a member said.

Police arrested the vloggers, who will be charged for alarm and scandal as well as lockdown protocol violations since only adults aged 21 to 59 are allowed to go out under the general community quarantine.

“One of the suspects, we found out na vlogger na siya sa YouTube, at alam naman natin siyempre ‘pag vlogger, may kita na ‘yan sa views niyan,” Valenzuela police chief Colonel Fernando Ortega said.

The group said that the prank was supposed to be the eighth upload on their channel.

They added that they were inspired by other vloggers.
