57-year-old man lives in Antipolo gas station

A 57-year-old man, who is suffering from diabetes, has been living at a gasoline station in Antipolo City, according to MJ Geronimo’s report on “Stand for Truth.”

Antonio Palero moves around in a wheelchair as his lower left leg has been amputated in June due to complications brought about by diabetes.

Since undergoing the operation, he has not returned to the doctor.

He had been diagnosed with the illness for a long time but was unable to drink medicine.

Palero had three children with his first wife, but he said she already remarried while his second wife in Bicol is also sick.

Meanwhile, he and his third wife separated due to some misunderstandings.

After the operation, he went to live with his sibling.

Though he tried returning to his family, they were experiencing too many hardships and could not accept Palero back. -- Joahna Lei Casilao/BAP, GMA News
