LRT2 ops suspended after fire incident at Santolan station

LRT2 operations were suspended on Thursday morning after a UPS or Uninterrupted Power Supply at the Santolan station caught fire, according to Mark Makalalad's report on Dobol B sa News TV.

The fire incident took place 5:10 am and lasted for less than an hour, the report said, citing Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) public relations head Lyn Paragas.

"Nasunog yung UPS dito sa may Santolan station, yung function ng UPS dito siya yung nagpo-provide ng power in case na may power fluctuation or power interruption," Paragas said

"As a precautionary measure hindi muna kami nag-operate, wala munang operations ang LRT ngayon habang iniimbestigahan at tsine-check kung may mga nadamay na ibang equipment," she added

She said operations will resume after the investigation if no other equipment were damaged by the fire.

Paragas said the UPS was not totally damaged by the fire. —KBK, GMA News
