Greenhills mall management reviews COVID-19 safety protocols

The management of Greenhills Mall on Friday reviewed its health and safety protocols amid the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic to ensure the safety of its customers and tenants.

According to Marisol Abdurahman’s report on “24 Oras,” the management wanted to intensify the implementation of the protocols to avoid spreading the virus.

The first local COVID-19 transmission case in the country was recorded in a prayer room of the Greenhills Shopping Center on March 7. That first case,  a 62-year-old patient, often visited the prayer room.

Jaime Ysmael, chairman and CEO of Ortigas and Company, admitted that they were affected by the incident.

“These are unfortunate events but it’s something that we have already addressed and will continue to address. But we are confident that with all of the things that we are doing that people will already come back,” Ysmael said.

Among the safeguards put in place were the placement of thermal scanners and alcohol dispensers in mall entrances, and a face mask requirement. — Joahna Lei Casilao/DVM, GMA News
