QC installs checkpoints to check compliance with health protocols
The Quezon City government placed several border checkpoints to make sure that travelers were complying with health protocols, Chino Gaston reported Tuesday on GMA News' “Balitanghali.”
Aside from checking whether people were wearing face masks and shields, authorities would also check if there were minors and senior citizens in the vehicles.
The QC government earlier passed an ordinance banning minors in all public places, whether alone or accompanied by a parent or guardian, as well as senior citizens, to protect them from the virus.
Several drivers were caught without face masks and face shields.
Some bus drivers were given tickets because of overloading.
However, the checkpoints did create traffic jams.
“Dapat po ay ma-comply po ng ating mga bus operators and bus conductors and drivers ‘yong minimum health protocols po na pinapatupad po ng IATF natin,” said Police Lieutenant Joanna Sazon of the QCPD. — Ma. Angelica Garcia/DVM, GMA News
