Cement mixer snags on power lines, sends poles crashing down on cars in Las Piñas

A cement mixer that drove through  power lines along CAA Road in Las Piñas uprooted electric utility poles that fell on two cars and one tricycle.

According to Bam Alegre’s “24 Oras” report on Wednesday, a netizen caught on camera the huge, blinding spark that erupted when the cement mixer steadily drove through a web of wires on the road.

The mixer kept moving forward, bringing down three poles, which then fell on the other vehicles.

“Noong dumadaan kami, biglang may bumagsak na poste ng Meralco tapos pagbagsak, sumunod na ‘yung poste ng mga cable wire. ‘Yung kotse namin, ‘yun ang napuruhan. Nabigla kami,” said motorist Leandro Batula, whose car was heavily damaged.

No serious injuries were reported.

Las Piñas Traffic authorities have started investigating the incident.
