QC says 4 quarantine facilities full, some hospitals filling up
All four of the HOPE quarantine facilities in Quezon City have reached full capacity due to a surge in the number of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases, according to Saleema Refran’s report on “24 Oras.”
Due to this, the Quezon City Government will open two more facilities at Talipapa High School and the Emilio Jacinto National High School.
Meanwhile, even the hospitals under the city have almost reached full capacity.
According to QC Epidemiology and Surveillance unit head Dr. Rolly Cruz, the hospitals in Quezon City have a 70 to 80 percent capacity.
“Sa Quezon City General, ‘yung ICU na lang nila ang hindi masyadong puno. And then two our hospital, NDH astaka ‘yung Maclang, ay hindi na makakatanggap ngayon ng additional pasyente,” Cruz said.
[“At the Quezon City General, only their ICU is not too full. And then our two hospitals, NDH (Novaliches District Hospital) and Maclang (Rosario Maclang Bautista General Hospital), are currently unable to accept additional patients.”]
The city has recorded 13 cases of the UK variant of the COVID-19 and four cases of the South Africa variant of the disease. Most of these have recovered.
