Some commuters complain of inconvenience in using the 'S-PaSS'
Several commuters have complained about the use of the government's travel management system, the Swift and Smart Passage (S-PaSS), as the process takes a chunk of their time.
According to a report on "24 Oras" on Thursday, Jerson Real, a Bulacan resident who works in Baguio City, said the S-PaSS system has too many requirements.
"'Pag marami na po masyadong hinahanap, masyado nang abala. Imbis na makakapag-trabaho kaagad, marami pang prosesong gagawin," Real said.
Another commuter said it also causes trouble among people who do not have access to the internet.
"Mahirap kasi 'yong anak ko lang po 'yong gumawa lahat kasi 'di naman ako marunong sa mga ganiyan. Lalo na 'yong mga walang cellphone, paano na lang?" Elizabeth Sulit said.
Meanwhile, a bus company is giving free assistance to passengers who want to register for an S-PaSS.
"Gusto namin kayong isakay lahat, as long as sumusunod tayo sa protocol. Abala pero para rin kasi sa safety," Raul Ecaldre, Victory Liner's customer service department head, said.
Passengers are now required to present their S-PaSS before being allowed to board a bus.
The Department of Science and Technology launched S-PaSS to make traveling to different localities more efficient, especially amid lockdown restrictions.
Before, a travel authority was issued by police stations to allow non-authorized personnel outside residence and locally stranded individuals to travel to their destinations. -- Ma. Angelica Garcia/BAP, GMA News
