QC, Caloocan mayors say no walk-in policy during ECQ vaccination

The local chief executives of Quezon City and Caloocan City on Thursday reminded their constituents that they will be implementing no walk-in policy in their respective vaccination sites to prevent overcrowding and spread of COVID-19.

In a press statement, QC Mayor Joy Belmonte said they issued the reminder after they received reports of unregistered citizens who trooped to inoculation sites as some employers released instructions that banned unvaccinated workers.

Belmonte slammed the move as  discriminatory, adding that employees will also lose their livelihoods amid the economic consequences of the lockdown restrictions.

"They should be lenient considering their employees remain unvaccinated not out of choice or refusal. As soon as the promised additional vaccine supplies are delivered to our city,  we will make sure our workers are inoculated as soon as possible," she said, adding that vaccine supply is the issue in the vaccination process.

Further, the mayor said workers and residents in Quezon City can register in the QCProtektodo Vaccination Program through the barangay-assisted process or by signing up through its online platform qceservices.quezoncity.gov.ph/qcvaxeasy

In a Facebook post, Caloocan City Mayor Oscar Malapitan also announced that they implemented a registration system for inoculation during the enforcement of metro-wide enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in August.

"Ang lahat ng lalabas upang magpabakuna ay hahanapan ng katunayan na kayo ay may confirmed appointment o schedule (Vaccination Pass o Text Confirmation),"  Malapitan said.

(Those who would go outside for vaccination will be asked to show their text confirmation or vaccination pass.)

As of Thursday, the online appointment slots for August 6, 7, and 9 are already filled.

Residents can also go to their barangays for prelisting. Barangays officials, meanwhile, are urged to go house to house to determine who among their constituents are yet to be vaccinated.

Those who will be given vaccination slots will be provided with a pass which they would bring to the inoculation site.—AOL, GMA News
