235 NCR areas under granular lockdown —PNP
From 281, the number of areas in the National Capital Region under granular lockdown was reduced to 235 as of Tuesday, based on the data of the Philippine National Police released on Wednesday.
In an update, the PNP said these areas were reported in 129 barangays in Metro Manila.
These areas include 143 houses, 77 residential buildings, nine streets, and five subdivisions.
At least 625 PNP personnel and 774 force multipliers have been deployed in lockdown areas to ensure security and adherence to minimum health standards.
Metro Manila Council (MMC) head and Parañaque Mayor Edwin Olivarez earlier said the presence of one COVID-19 case is enough to impose a lockdown on a house or a condominium floor.
To impose a lockdown on an entire street, he said there should be at least two COVID-19 cases.
Granular lockdowns are micro-level quarantine for areas classified as "critical zones" by the local government unit (LGU). According to officials, granular lockdowns could be implemented on a house, compound, street or building with high cases of infections.—AOL, GMA News
