PNP: Over 176,000 violators reported in NCR amid Alert Level 3
A total of 176,099 quarantine violators were reported in the National Capital Region (NCR) since the implementation of Alert Level 3 as of Tuesday, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said Wednesday.
Based on the PNP data, a total of 9,822 violators were reported on Tuesday. The daily average of violators from October 16 to November 2 is 9,783.
Around 60% of the violators were warned, 33% were fined, while 7% faced other sanctions, according to the PNP.
A total of 132,931 violators or 7,385 daily have violated minimum public health standards amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
For curfew, a total of 42,268 violators or 2,348 daily were reported in Metro Manila.
A total of 900 who are not considered authorized persons outside residence (APORs) were also caught outdoors.
The NCR will be under Alert Level 3 from November 1 until 14.
Several establishments will be allowed to operate at 30% indoor venue capacity only for fully vaccinated individuals and 50% outdoor venue capacity, provided that all employees are fully vaccinated.
Curfew in Metro Manila has been shortened to 12 midnight to 4 a.m. starting October 13.
On Monday, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority chairperson Benhur Abalos said he has appealed to the Department of Health to reassess the NCR after a week and place it under Alert Level 2.
He said NCR mayors already made their vote regarding the easing of curfew in the region. According to him, a resolution on the matter will be issued in a day or two. —Joviland Rita/KG, GMA News
