Vico Sotto: Pasig street sweepers to receive P12K salary starting Jan. 2022

The Pasig City government has increased the salary of 215 workers of the City Environment and Natural Resources Office/Solid Waste Management Office, mostly street sweepers, to 12,000 per month.

In a Facebook post, Mayor Vico Sotto said the previous salary of these employees ranges from P5,000 to P8,000 only.

He said the employees are full time workers who have to report to work eight hours daily. He added they have to have complete attendance to receive the full amount.

“Makakatulong ito para mapunan ang kulang sa mga eskinita at HOA [home owners’ association] (It will help fill the gaps in the alleys and HOA),” he said.

The salary hike will take effect in January 2022, Sotto said during a flag ceremony at the city hall on Monday.

“Napaka-importante na ibigay ng lokal na pamahalaan sa inyo ang benepisyo nang nararapat at tama (It is important for the local government to give you appropriate benefits),” he said.—Joviland Rita/AOL, GMA News
