Parañaque City suspends classes from January 15 to 22, 2022

The Parañaque City government on Friday declared a one-week suspension of all classes in both public and private schools due to the rise of COVID-19 cases in the country.

The local government issued the suspension after the Department of Education-National Capital Region (DepEd NCR) suspended classes from January 15 until January 22, 2022 to ease the burden of teachers and students due to the spike in COVID-19 cases.

“To ease the health burden caused by the surge of COVID-19 cases to the physical and mental well-being of the school personnel and learners, the DepEd-NCR suspends the conduct of classes including the city of Parañaque starting Saturday, January 15, 2022 and on Monday, January 17 until Saturday, January 22, 2022,” the Parañaque government said in an advisory.

It noted that classes will resume on January 24 to 29 on purely asynchronous distance learning modalities.

Several cities including Manila, Marikina, Pasay, San Juan, Valenzuela and Antipolo also declared a health break for students and teachers.

The government placed Metro Manila and around 50 other areas under Alert Level 3 from January 16 to 31 amid the rising COVID-19 cases.
