More LRT2 escalators, elevators up and running starting Monday

The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) on Saturday said more escalators and elevators in the LRT Line 2 (LRT2) will be in operation starting Monday, April 18, after the Holy Week maintenance of the railway system.

In an advisory, the LRTA said that starting next week the operational escalators in the line’s stations will go up to 52 and 31, respectively.

In total, the LRT2 has 72 escalators and 40 elevators from Antipolo up to Recto.

“Sa ngayon, meron nang elevators and escalators na gumagana sa lahat ng istasyon,” the LRTA said.

“Samantala patuloy pa rin ang ginagawang pagkukumpuni sa mga natitirang sirang elevator habang ang ibang escalator ay sumasailalim sa testing and commissioning,” it added.

The LRTA said that it aims to make all elevators and escalators in all of LRT2’s stations operation as soon as possible for the comfort of the commuting public, especially the senior citizens and persons with disability. —LBG, GMA News
