Woman gives birth in tricycle, newborn infant falls, found dead

A newborn was found dead after the infant fell from the tricycle where the baby's mother gave birth, according to Raffy Tima's report on "24 Oras".

A neighbor of the baby's mother said she was rushed to the hospital because she was already giving birth.

On their way, they didn't realize that the baby already came out of the mother's womb and fell on the Tinajeros Bridge in Malabon.

“Sabi nung nanganak, ano lumabas na eh. Malayo na kami. E, walang bakas ng dugo. Sabi ko balikan natin. Yun pala lumabas na... Butas pala yung kumot eh,” Princess Reyes, neighbor of the mother, said.

(She said the baby was already out. We were already a distance away, but we did not see any trace of blood. I said let's go back. It turned out that she didn't know that the baby slipped through the blanket, which had a hole.)

The mother was still at home when she started having labor pains.

The tricycle driver who transported the mother was worried over the incident, saying that he was not aware that the baby had fallen off his tricycle.

“Ang takbo nasa wala pang 20, dahan dahan kasi baka maano nga yung bata, inaalalayan ko yung bata sabi lumalabas na raw,” tricycle driver Wildredo Macarage said.

(The speed is less than 20 [kilometers per hour], we traveled very slowly because the child might get hurt. I was trying to help them, but the baby was coming out already.)

According to the report, the mother was in good condition.

The Malabon Philippine National Police (PNP), meanwhile, will conduct an investigation.

“Itu-turnover na lang sa WCPC (Women and Children Protection Center) at ang WCPC magiinterview naman sa magulang. Tapos yung emergency response ng baranggay sila ang kukuha at itu-turnover sa kamaganak,” Police Executive Master Sergeant Rene De Leon, shift supervisor, substation 2, Tugatog Malabon PNP, said.
