Abby Binay wins third term as Makati City mayor

Makati City Mayor Abby Binay and running mate, incumbent Vice Mayor Monique Lagdameo, were proclaimed winners early Tuesday morning, GMA News' Bernadette Reyes reported.

Binay's husband, Luis Campos, also won a fresh mandate as Second District Representative.

Kid Pena, meanwhile, also won as First District Representative.

There was a delay in the proclamation due to problems with some SD cards and Vote Counting Machines or VCMs that failed to immediately transmit votes.

The proclamation was done around 6 a.m. on Tuesday.

The latest tally showed Binay had 317, 290 votes while rival, Joel Hernandez had 15,565 votes.

Vice Mayor Lagdameo had 293, 998 votes while Kuya Rod Biolena had 21,083 votes. -- BAP, GMA News
