Maynilad implements water service interruption in 10 areas

Maynilad Water Services Inc. on Monday, May 16, started its implementation of service interruptions in 10 areas to manage the water level in reservoirs.

According to Maynilad, customers may experience service interruptions from 10:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. in some parts of the following areas until June 1:

  • Caloocan
  • Makati
  • Malabon
  • Manila
  • Navotas
  • Parañaque
  • Pasay
  • Quezon
  • Valenzuela
  • Bulacan

Maynilad said it is managing the quick decline of water level from reservoirs due to high demand for water during daytime.

“This will enable us to refill our reservoirs at night in preparation for the daytime peak demand,” it said.

Maynilad advised affected customers to store enough water when supply is available.

Upon resumption of water service, Maynilad instructed consumers to let the water flow out briefly until it clears.

Mobile water tankers are on stand-by and ready to deliver potable water as needed, according to Maynilad.

As of 6 a.m. on Monday, the water level in Angat Dam was recorded at 191.11 meters, which is lower compared to its normal high water level at 210 meters.  —Joviland Rita/KBK, GMA News
