EDSA-Kamuning flyover southbound to open July 23 — DPWH exec

The EDSA-Kamuning flyover southbound lane in Quezon City will be opened to motorists on July 23 at 5 p.m., the Department of Public and Works and Highways said Wednesday.

At a press briefing, DPWH-NCR District Engineer Eduardo Santos said they will finish the rehabilitation of the flyover "ahead of schedule."

"We are planning to open the EDSA-Kamuning flyover to the transporting public on July 23 at 5 p.m.," Santos said.

“As of now, tapos na namin halos lahat ng layer structures and bigger structures. 'Yung approach na lang sa down rack sa Nepa Q. side na dalawang lane ang ginagawa namin,” he added.

(As of now, we have finished almost all the layer structures and bigger structures. We are just approaching the down rack on the Nepa Q. side with two lanes.)

Authorities closed the flyover on June 25 to motorists to repair cracks and holes on its structure.

Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) chair Atty. Romando Artes earlier said the 30-meter stretch of the flyover would require 30 days to be repaired.

Around 140,000 vehicles use the EDSA-Kamuning flyover every day, the MMDA chief said. — Mel Matthew Doctor/RSJ, GMA News
