HPG: Vehicles with unauthorized ‘wangwang’ come from exclusive villages

At least 60 motorists were apprehended on Thursday in the campaign against unauthorized blinkers and sirens in Makati City.

One of those who were flagged down introduced himself as a government employee and another said he was with the staff of a lawmaker.

According to John Consulta's report on "24 Oras", some of the motorists were hesitant to part with their sirens and blinkers, which were subject to confiscation by the authorities.

Intayin natin siyang lumambot, maghapon siya dyan nakatambay,” Police Colonel William Segun, deputy director PNP-HPG, said.

Based on the HPG’s report, many vehicles using “wang-wang” and blinkers come from executive subdivisions.
