Two dead after QC floods, kin to receive aid from city


Two residents have been found dead following the heavy rains and floods which hit several areas in Quezon City over the weekend.

In a statement, Mayor Joy Belmonte said the city would will provide assistance to the two victims whose bodies were found at the Parkway Village in Barangays Apolonio Samson and Bahay Toro.

“Taos-puso tayong nakikiramay sa pamilya at mahal sa buhay ng dalawa nating residente na nasawi sa kasagsagan ng malakas na pag-ulan at biglang pagbaha nitong Sabado,” Belmonte said.

(We sincerely extend our condolences to the family and loved ones of our two residents who died during the onslaught of heavy rains and flash floods this Saturday.)

“Magpapaabot ang pamahalaang lungsod ng kailangang tulong sa mga naulila ng mga biktima, kabilang na ang tulong pinansyal at pansamantala nilang matutuluyan,” she added.

(The city government will extend the necessary assistance to the victims’ families, including financial assistance and temporary accommodation.)

One of the fatalities have been identified while the Quezon City Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Office (QCDRRMO) is coordinating with the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) for the other's identity. —NB, GMA News
