Voter applicants form long lines at Comelec and satellite offices on registration last day


Long lines of voter applicants formed outside the Commission on Elections (Comelec) offices and its satellite areas on Saturday for the last day of registration.

At SM North EDSA in Quezon City, voter applicants fell in line even before sunrise, Luisito Santos reported on Super Radyo dzBB.

Meanwhile at the Comelec office on Mayor Antonio J. Villegas Road (formerly Arroceros) in Manila, there was hardly any physical distancing among voter registrants.

At SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City, voter applicants fell in line overnight to ensure they would be able to register on Saturday at the Comelec satellite area, according to a report by Mao dela Cruz on Super Radyo dzBB.

People were seen sitting on the sidewalk while waiting for their turn.

 

 

 

July 23 is the last day for voter registration for the Sangguniang Kabataan and Barangay elections set on December 5.

The Comelec said those who are still in line as of 3 p.m. on Saturday will be accommodated for registration.

"As long as you are in line to register by 3PM, your application will still be accommodated. Make sure you are present when your name is called!" the poll body said in a tweet.
