QC gov’t orders early dismissal of employees on SONA 2022


Employees of the local government of Quezon City were tasked to work until 12 p.m. only on Monday, July 25, in light of the first State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.

In a memorandum, QC Mayor Joy Belmonte said essential services like law enforcement, traffic management, fire protection, health and rescue, and disaster response and management will, however, remain uninterrupted.

Marcos will deliver his SONA at the Batasang Pambansa Complex in QC which is now on lockdown as part of security measures. At least 21,000 security forces will be deployed for the event.

Classes in all levels for private and public schools in the city are also canceled on Monday due to the SONA. —Giselle Ombay/KG, GMA News
