LTO permanently revokes driver's license of Mandaluyong hit-and-run suspect

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) on Thursday permanently revoked the license of the driver of an SUV that ran over a security guard directing a traffic in a mall in Mandaluyong City last June.

According to Glen Juego’s report on Super Radyo dzBB, the LTO found Jose Antonio Sanvicente guilty of reckless driving and duty of driver in case of accident.

The LTO also said Sanvicente is "perpetually disqualified" from getting another driver's license and driving a motor vehicle.

Sanvicente's non-professional driver's license is now in possession of LTO’s Intelligence and Investigation Division (IID).

Earlier in the day, the Mandaluyong City Prosecutor's Office recommended the indictment of the suspect for frustrated homicide instead of frustrated murder.

The prosecutors said none of the qualifying circumstances for murder under Article 248 of the Revised Penal Code, as amended, may be appreciated.

The prosecutors also dismissed for lack of probable cause the charge of abandonment of persons in danger and one’s own victim.

On June 6, victim Christian Joseph Floralde was run over by an SUV as he was trying to direct traffic at the intersection of Julia Vargas Avenue and St. Francis Street in Mandaluyong.Mel Matthew Doctor/AOL, GMA News
