Fire hits residential area in Sta. Mesa, Manila

A fire broke out in a residential area in Barangay 633, Sta. Mesa, Manila on Monday afternoon, according to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).

A report from the BFP-National Capital Region Public Information Office said the fire along Quintana Street was raised to first alarm at 12:47 p.m. and reached the second alarm at 12:52 p.m.

The blaze was eventually controlled at 1:21 p.m. and declared out at 2:04 p.m.

Property damage from the fire was estimated at P70,000. At least one person sustained minor injury due to the blaze.

As of posting time, arson investigators are still looking into the case to determine the origin of the fire.—Mel Matthew Doctor/LDF, GMA News
