Roads leading to cemeteries in NCR cleared of obstructions ahead of Undas 2022
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) conducted clearing operations along roads leading to cemeteries ahead of this year's Undas, according to Bernadette Reyes' "24 Oras Weekend" report on Saturday.
Personnel from the Task Force Operation Baklas cleared obstructions along Montreal and Denver streets going to Aurora Boulevard and Arayat in Cubao, Quezon City.
It also conducted clearing operations along roads leading to a cemetery in San Juan City.
Some tents of a barangay were also removed by the MMDA.
The MMDA said they were preparing for the influx of province-bound passengers at bus terminals.
The agency will conduct clearing operations along the roads of Manila, Quezon City, and Malabon in the coming days.
Vendors who were impacted by the clearing operations may retrieve their possessions in exchange for submitting a written pledge that they won't ever again allow their belongings to block roads.
Meanwhile, the Philippine Ports Authority-Matnog is also starting to prepare for the influx of passengers for Undas.
The port management said that it expects to monitor 4,000 to 5,000 passengers in light of the relaxation of travel restrictions.
He said that they are also getting ready for the line of vehicles waiting to enter the port.
— Richa Noriega/VBL, GMA News
