World War II vintage bomb discovered at UST construction site

A World War II vintage bomb is now in the care of the Manila Police District after it was discovered at a construction site inside the University of Santo Tomas.

According to Darlene Cay's report on "Saksi", the M9 A1 high-explosive anti-tank rifle grenade was spotted at the construction site near Gate 10 of UST at past 3 p.m. on Tuesday.

A construction worker discovered the vintage bomb and a UST security guard called the police to the area.

Police Lt. Leo Limbaga, chief of the Manila District EOD and Canine Unit, said vintage or old bombs are still considered dangerous.

Rifles are used to detonate them but they could still explode if hit hard enough. —NB, GMA Integrated News
