BI nabs 4 Chinese, 3 Taiwanese fugitives in Las Piñas

Four Chinese and three Taiwanese fugitives have been arrested in Las Piñas, Bureau of Immigration (BI) spokesperson Dana Sandoval said Friday.

“Naka receive po tayo ng information from the Chinese government na ‘yung nationals po na nahuli doon wanted po for contract fraud, drug trafficking, telecom fraud, at saka theft,” Sandoval said during the public briefing.

“‘Yung mga Taiwanese naman po na nahuli, meron po silang mga kaso na fraud and offenses of causing bodily harm. Parang nanakit po sila ng kapwa nila,” she added.

Sandoval said some of the fugitives arrived in the country in 2019 while others came in 2023.

The four Chinese nationals were identified as Zhang Quanbao, Song Tianming, Yu Liming, and Liu Jianxin, while the three Taiwanese were Li Yi Liang, Huang Hsin-Chiang, and Lin Yue Hong.

According to Sandoval, the fugitives are currently detained at the BI facility in Bicutan while deportation proceedings are ongoing.

“Once deported, ini-include po natin, nilalagay po natin ang kanilang mga pangalan sa ating blacklist upang hindi na po sila magkaroon ng opportunity na makabalik pa po sa bansa,” she said.
