More than P1.3M worth of alleged shabu confiscated in buy-bust op in QC
Authorities confiscated 200 grams of alleged shabu worth more than P1.3 million in a buy-bust operation in Quezon City on Sunday night.
The subject of the buy-bust operation in Barangay Bahay Toro is suspect Ruben Madarang, 40, according to a report by James Agustin on Unang Balita on Monday.
Operatives from the Quezon City Police District-Drug Enforcement Unit (QCPD-DEU) arrested the suspect after a cop posing as buyer was able to have a transaction with him.
"Ang original na transaction niya is 50 grams [ng shabu]. Sa subsequent search ay nakuha pa rin ang tatlong pakete na tig-50 grams ulit so naging 200 [grams] lahat ang naging total," QCPD Director Police Brigadier General Nicolas Torre said.
(The original transaction is for 50 grams [of shabu]. In subsequent search, three more packets containing 50 grams each were found, so the total is 200 [grams of shabu were confiscated].)
Police said the suspect allegedly supplies drugs to the immediate community around him as well as others with big transactions, even people he may not personally know.
"Kumbaga sa ibang street level, well, this is relatively big kasi sampung bulto palagi ang isang pakete eh. Sampung bulto so medyo malaki na," Torre said.
(Compared to others on the street level, well, this is relatively big because one packet contains 10 bags. Ten bags, so that's already big.)
The suspect was previously arrested twice for drug-related charges.
He denied that he is selling drugs, and also said the cops did not find any drugs on him.
The suspect will face charges of violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. —KG, GMA Integrated News
