1 hurt as bus hits ambulance on EDSA busway

The driver of an ambulance was hurt after the vehicle was hit by a bus on EDSA carousel busway in Kamuning, Quezon City on Thursday.

According to Mark Salazar’s report on “24 Oras,” the ambulance tried entering  the bus lane causing the approaching northbound RRCG Bus to crash into it.

“Bigla siyang pumasok kaya nasabitan kami, hindi naman kami mag-aakala na papasok siya syempre may mga barrier dyan,” said Rolly Torres, the bus driver.

The Tarlac-based ambulance was not carrying any patient.

The ambulance driver sustained minor injuries and was immediately brought to the hospital.  No one was hurt among the bus passengers.

“Siguro mga kinse ang sakay ko, wala namang injury, wala naman po sa unahan nasa banda gitna. Yung kundoktor ko medyo nasa harap,” Torres said.

The Quezon City Police Department (QCPD) Traffic Sector 3 is investigating  the incident.—Jiselle Anne Cascian/LDF, GMA Integrated News
