Fire engulfs tire factory in Valenzuela

A fire broke out at a factory making tires in Valenzuela City before dawn on Tuesday.

The fire started before 4 a.m. at the factory located in Barangay Lingunan, according to a report by Super Radyo dzBB reporter Allan Gatus on Unang Balita on Tuesday.

Initial investigation showed that the fire began at the grinding area where the first step in making tires is done.

Because the tires are flammable, firemen had difficulty putting out the fire which reached the fourth alarm.

The firemen had to use chemical to battle the fire which was finally placed under control at 5:35 a.m.

The Bureau of Fire Protection is still determining the possible cause of the fire. —KG, GMA Integrated News
