Malabon cop who shot 3 persons slapped with complaint
Complaints were formally lodged on Thursday against the policeman who fired shots inside a house in Malabon that killed two persons and wounded another.
The suspect, Patrolman Zenjo del Rosario, said he was only doing his job as a member of the Drug Enforcement Unit of the Malabon City Police Station, according to a "24 Oras " report by Emil Sumangil.
The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) field the complaint against suspect Patrolman Zenjo del Rosario for the deaths of Alexis Rodriguez and Jay Apas, and the wounding of Baby Tadiomon.
"Murder para dun sa dalawang namatay at frustrated murder naman dun sa isang wounded," said Lieutenant Colonel Dominick Poblete of the CIDG-Northern Metro Mania.
Del Rosario was identified by neighbors who apprehended him after the attack.
A special task group formed to investigate the incident has yet to identify the cause of the shooting, but it was initially declared that the victims were allegedly involved in illegal drugs.
“Based sa investigations natin, personal ang lakad na ito ng suspek. Hindi sanctioned ng law enforcement unit,” Poblete said.
“Baka [paghuli sa mga biktima] ang purpose niya, but alam naman natin na bawal yan. May clearance yan , lahat ng mga operations natin,” he added.
The task force group said it recovered bullet casings believed to have been fired by the suspect, in addition to a toy gun that supposedly belong to one of the victims.
Meanwhile, Poblete assured that no whitewashing will happen in the investigation.
