Vlogger facing drug charges falls to police thru his videos

A vlogger with outstanding cases of illegal drug pushing and possession was recently arrested in Pasig City with the help of his videos.

According to a “24 Oras” report by Emil Sumangil on Wednesday, the suspect is wanted in Tacloban, Leyte. He entered into plea bargain for his case but did not show up for his trial.

The suspect allegedly went into hiding in Pasig City where he began recording and sharing videos as a vlogger under a different identity. He soon amassed a number of followers that prompted him to create more videos.

“Itong akusado, nahuli ito last 2016, [sa] buy bust operation [ng] Drug Unit ng Tacloban City Police Office. Meron siyang violation dun sa hindi niya pag re-report sa probation officer, napakaling kasalanan nuon. Doon siya nahuli, naging vlogger siya…nung nag share siya ng mga videos dun siya natunton ng ating mga kapulisan,” said Tacloban City Police Chief Police Major Edwin Canamaque

(The suspect was arrested during a buy bust operation in 2016 in Tacloban City. He committed a violation because he failed to report to his probation officer, a serious offense.He later became a vlogger and when he shared videos that's how we found him.) 

Working with undercover operatives who arranged a collab video with the suspect, Pasig police organized an entrapment operation leading to the arrest.—RF, GMA Integrated News
